Strike Films is a Dublin based, Irish television production company run by Dhruba Banerjee. Young but growing quickly, Strike Films' current focus is documentary, but we are always exploring other avenues for telling stories.
Strike Films' first commission was London Calling- following 13 Irish athletes across 2 years, 3 continents and 15 countries, as they tried to qualify for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Dhruba has a long track record as a Series Producer on big budget, high profile Irish versions of International formats, including;
- Dragons’ Den- featuring the global debut of 'Junior Dragons' Den'
- Series 1 of The Genealogy Roadshow, which went on to be syndicated in the USA before Series 2 hit air
- Ireland's Greatest- an Irish take on the BBC Format 'Great Britons'
And,
- Who Do You Think You Are?- the global hit in which celebrities trace their ancestry, discovering secrets and surprises from their past
Between running Strike Films and working as a Series Producer on primetime history, genealogy and factual entertainment shows, Dhruba also works as a freelance producer and director, and has just concluded work as Post- Production producer on the AFP project The Taste of Success.
During 2014 he also worked on Rights Clearance for the RTÉ Player International, which launched in February 2015, as well as a number of commercials for Media Coop.
Dhruba spent 3 years at Mint Productions, Ireland's premier documentary company. As Head of Production he worked on award winning programmes such as; Get Collins (Celtic Media Festival 2008- Jury Prize), Bertie (IFTA 2009- Best Documentary Series), Surgeons 2 (Irish Medical Media Awards 2008- Best Programme), and When The Party's Over (Irish Medical Media Awards 2009- Special Award).
Strike Films also provides production support services to overseas crews filming in Ireland, including 3 episodes of Who Do You Think You Are? USA for Shed Media in Los Angeles.
