Studio 2912 Landscape Architecture is a boutique firm offering professional Landscape Architecture Services to a diverse set of clients. We nurture each project by taking a hands-on approach - owner and founder, Jennifer Sabo Spencer, is involved in every aspect of the design process. We aspire to connect the client to their surrounding environment - whether it be a small residential design or a large scale commercial project. All projects integrate sustainable design solutions that address real-world issues.
Jennifer Sabo Spencer is the founder of Studio 2912 Landscape Architecture and is a registered Landscape Architect with two decades of experience in the profession. Jennifer received her Landscape Architectural degree from the University of Wisconsin, where she also minored in Environmental Studies. After working in a distinguished firm in Madison for three years, she moved to San Diego in 2000. She gained valuable experience working at well-known local firms such as WRT, Inc. and Ivy Landscape Architects, Inc. During her time at these firms, she worked on many interesting and challenging projects that ranged from large scale park design with multiple stakeholders to intimate residential courtyard designs with individual homeowners. To further her sustainability goals she became a LEED AP Professional in 2007. Jennifer has extensive experience as a trusted and responsible Landscape Architect with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for design and coffee…lots of coffee.

Studio 2912 strives to provide unique solutions to every project. We do this by utilizing three principles in all our design solutions:

Collaborations
In every project we see ourselves as part of a team. The team always varies based on the project and can include a number of different members - from clients to community members, residents, visitors, other consultants, artists, and more. We value the opinions and ideas of the team and understand that the design process stems not from one person, but from the collective whole. We believe that listening and connecting with our team is as important as designing.
Research
With any assignment, Studio 2912 begins with research and inspiration. Each project has its own unique history, culture, community and landscape that drives the design process and we understand there are a number of diverse factors that will influence the design solution.
Creative Solutions that are Sustainable
We recognize that because every project is unique, every project deserves a creative, original design, not a reproduction of former designs. In addition to this, the sustainability of the design is also key to the design process. Sustainability includes not only the approach to the project, but also the materials selected for the site and understanding how the design will – or will not – be maintained once it is completed. We are truly committed to creating a final professional design that is creative and sustainable for the end user.
