Susgrainable rescues spent grains from craft brewers to create sustainable and nutritious upcycled barley flour. Established with a mission to combat food waste and low fibre diets, Susgrainable's innovative approach has led to the creation of a shelf-stable barley flour, derived from the over 450,000 tons of spent grain, rich in fibre and protein, generated by Canadian craft brewers annually.
Our proprietary process collects, dehydrates, and mills spent grain into a versatile flour with a deep, rich, toasty, malt flavour and the healthiest macronutrient profile of any flour alternative on the market. With plans to launch to our first micro-facility soon, we aim to begin rescuing grains at scale and become the first mover in Canada’s upcycled functional flour market.
