Switching Battery® is the first flow-through energy storage system that combines storage, switching, and control into a single step using XY Logic. It can be compared to a living system where the battery serves as the lungs, the built-in switch acts as the heart, and the logic controller functions as the brain. This integrated XY Logic design seamlessly manages energy flow directly from the battery to the load, enabling simultaneous charging (in parallel, or X-mode) and discharging (in series, or Y-mode)—a system that replaces traditional 0-1 binary switching with smooth, continuous flow.
XY Logic integrates the battery management system (BMS) that provides advanced power control without the need for additional components. This design also creates an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) when connected to one or more renewable sources, as it operates as a flow-through energy system—unlike traditional batteries that require external switching and control.
A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is an electronic device used to control the speed, torque, and direction of AC (Alternating Current) motors. VFD systems achieve this by varying the frequency and voltage of the power supplied to the motor, making it essential in applications where precise motor control is necessary. Traditional VFDs use a three-step process—converting AC to DC, stabilizing it, then converting it back to variable AC—resulting in complexity, energy loss, and heat generation.
In contrast, Switching Battery’s XY Logic modulates power directly from within the battery system, simplifying VFD into a single step. By leveraging fuzzy logic with VFD-like capability, Switching Battery® dynamically controls both duty cycle and frequency, optimizing energy flow using microcontrollers for high efficiency – it is compact, ideal and scalable solution for solar energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainable technologies.
