The Syn4Cem project, an *ERC Advanced Grant, is an ongoing research initiative that uses synchrotron X-rays to study the hydration of low-carbon cement materials. Syn4Cem explores key aspects of cement hydration, including:
Quantifying etch-pit growth rates as a function of particle size.
Investigating mass transport in the confined spaces within the cement.
Analyzing the evolution of water/air porosity during hydration.
