HOEZO TECHNIEKMAKER?
Techniekmaker is het initiatief van Ben Snoeijs om meer jongeren te inspireren voor techniek. In Nederland staan we voor grote uitdagingen, waar de behoefte aan technici groot is. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de energietransitie, robotisering, de zorg of onze voedselvoorziening. Niet alles is op te lossen met techniek, maar technici zijn wel goed in het vinden van oplossingen.
Techniekmaker richt zich op alle jongeren van vier tot en met achtien jaar. Dus vanaf de eerste stappen in het basisonderwijs tot aan het verlaten van het voortgezet onderwijs. Hierbij hanteert Ben de volgende lijfspreuk: #iedereendoetmee. Want het is zijn overtuiging dat meer diversiteit in technici ook zorgt voor betere oplossingen. Daarom is hij actief op het promoten van meiden, Nederlanders met een migratieachtergrond en de niet reguliere instroom in de techniek. Deze doelgroep heeft immers een hoog potentieel. Aanspreken gebeurt door betekenisvolle en contextrijke lessen aan te bieden voor alle niveaus. Met elk interessegebied is immers een toffe link naar de techniek te maken.
Techniekmaker brengt Techniek in de klas, door o.a. train de trainer sessies, onderwijs, lesbrieven en adopteer een school!
