Together we can turn ideas worth spreading into action. TED is a platform for ideas worth spreading. Started in 1984 as a conference where technology, entertainment and design converged, TED today shares ideas from a broad spectrum — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independent TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world. The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a license granted by TED. TEDxOrangeCoast is a non-profit, independently organized TED event devoted to ideas worth spreading. Our annual conferences, salon events and challenge programs bring together a like-minded community of curious, highly engaged people committed to inspiring change through positive actions.
