The be. leadership programme email format

The Be. Leadership Programme ran from 2011-2021. It was a year-long leadership programme, offering participants a unique opportunity to realise and develop leadership potential, self-awareness and the skills and attributes needed to create meaningful change. Be. Leadership took participants through a year of exploration of different perspectives, self-discovery and accessibility focused leadership, designed to develop courageous, innovative leaders equipped with the skills to drive accessibility thinking into the future. Set over 10 months and comprising 21 days, the programme was designed to facilitate deep critical thinking, robust inquiry, conversation, relationship building, and to connect participants with established leaders. Each session focused on a different aspect of and opportunity for leadership including: • what leadership is • how community is built and nurtured • what a civil society looks like • understanding social structures • current and future trends • global leadership issues Developing self-awareness and personal leadership skills was a fundamental component of the programme. Participants were provided with the tools to enable: • deeper and wider understanding of leadership and accessibility • increased self-awareness and leadership ability • meaningful change for themselves and their communities of interest • a deeper capacity for inquiry and critical thinking • different and improved decision making • relationship building • connection to a nationwide conversation on leadership, possibility and the future Be. Leadership in Governance ran from 2022-2024. The programme was designed to build a community of disabled and access leaders equipped with the skills for 21st century governance, and embed accessibility at a strategic level in the board agenda. The programme helped participants to further develop skills needed for governance roles and learn how to be effective and successful board members contributing to an accessible future.
