The Grey Area Ltd is a Cayman Islands–based non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals and families affected by brain-related conditions — including brain cancer, tumours, seizures, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. Founded in 2025 by Caymanian Oscar DaCosta and his wife Melissa DaCosta, The Grey Area Ltd was born out of personal experience. After navigating the physical, emotional, and logistical challenges of Oscar’s brain cancer diagnosis, the DaCostas recognized a critical gap — the "grey area" between clinical treatment and the real-life impact of living with a neurological condition. That gap is where we step in. At The Grey Area Ltd, we provide holistic, community-based support for patients, caregivers, and families. Our work is rooted in the understanding that brain health is complex, deeply personal, and often misunderstood. The medical system focuses on the diagnosis and treatment — we focus on everything in between: education, emotional support, caregiver relief, practical help, and community connection. Our services include: Peer and caregiver support groups Educational workshops and public awareness events Patient assistance for off-island care and medical travel Youth and young adult programming Community wellness and outreach events Development of accessible brain health resources We are advocates, educators, and compassionate companions for anyone navigating life with a neurological condition.
