The Rockley Group was founded in 1995 by Ann Rockley. TRG shaped the foundation of content strategy, structured content, content reuse, and intelligent content for omnichannel delivery. TRG helped define the best practices that continue to guide global organizations. In recognition of this groundbreaking work, Kristina Halvorson named Ann Rockley The Mother of Content Strategy for “laying the foundation for every smart word that’s been spoken about content strategy, structure, reuse, and governance” and named her to The Content Strategy Hall of Fame in 2023.
TRG’s work with Fortune 100 companies across tech, life sciences, and financial services led to globally recognized methodologies including the Unified Content Strategy; a repeatable method of identifying all content requirements up front, creating consistently structured content for reuse, managing it in a definitive source, and assembling it on demand to meet customers’ needs. This framework is the foundation of Managing Enterprise Content: A Unified Content Strategy, often referred to as the ‘bible’ of content management.
We further advanced the field by introducing the concept of Intelligent Content: content designed to be modular, structured, reusable, format-free, semantically rich, and as a result, discoverable, reconfigurable, and adaptable and shared it in our book Intelligent Content: A Primer.
Our commitment extended beyond client projects to education and industry growth, with three books, over 200 conference presentations and keynotes, and the founding of the Intelligent Content Conference, now known as ContentTECH.
In 2021, Ann Rockley expanded her focus, applying the same strategic mindset to a new mission: helping high-achievers revitalize their health and thrive personally and professionally. Drawing on her own experience balancing demanding work with serious health challenges, she guides others to sustainable well-being and success.
