Our mobile application, Peep, is designed to enhance the productivity and connectivity of college students while they are pursuing their studies. Studies show that multitasking and switch tasking can affect your productivity by up to 40%, so why let a 2 hour assignment take 3? College students are arguably the most time starved people in the world, trying to balance school, work, social life, and fitness, so productivity is a must.
Productivity:
- We enable college students to create study plans tailored to their needs (duration of study time, duration of breaks, and frequency of breaks) so that they can get more work done quicker. If a student leaves the timer screen before it is time for a study break, they will receive a Peep Penalty, which in turn will negatively affect their Productivity Score. The Productivity Score is a percentage that represents how much the student refrained from becoming distracted while studying. Your Productivity Score is public to all users of Peep via your profile page, therefore you won't want to have a low score!
Connectivity:
- Because our application uses geofencing technology, users will be able to view what others are studying for on their campus. Through our 'Peep Pair' function, we will be able to pair students together to study together, thus connecting them on an academic basis. Along with these great features, we will have a leaderboard on campus, in which students can see where they place amongst the other students on their campus. With the data we will be collecting, we will be able to see how often students are studying for each course, professor, department, major, and also we will be able to compare university study habits.
