It was founded realising the dire need for holistic teacher professional development in India. Teachers need to be encouraged and enabled to take ownership of their professional development. All the problems in school education invariably point out to teachers as the weakest link in the system - however, investment in teacher skilling is the lowest priority whether in govt. schools or privately managed schools.
The assumption is that teachers are masters in their chosen subject domain and that they need to be trained only in classroom strategies and pedagogic theory. In reality though most teachers need to augment their subject domain knowledge and have nowhere to go to.
To be an effective teacher today they need Knowledge across Content , Pedagogy and Technology. Teachers thus need support in all areas - Enhancement of Subject domain knowledge, Understanding Pedagogy theories & practice and Appropriate use of Technology.
Our aim is to bring back the focus on Teacher Professional Development through a holistic, globalised, technology driven program - Get the schools, Govt.departments and corporate bodies invest in teacher training.
