What problem are we solving?
The rest of the entertainment industries have moved to the digital space and reached a hyper-local audience. The theatre is still the dinosaur; it remains a local service.
They sell tickets to the local audience who live near the building and even then only to the size of the auditorium. The wider theatre-loving public has no idea what performances are in other cities or countries because they simply can't see them. In Europe alone, more than 5000 performances are discarded from the repertoire every year because the local audience is run out.
The institutes cannot store infinite stage sets because their storage capacity is also limited. So if they would present five new premiers, they have to discard five.
Most institutes are state-run, meaning they can only survive with massive cultural support. They need a new sustainable business model because all their income comes from ticket sales from live performances.
Moreover, 86% of the creators are unemployed because the numbers of institutes are less than how many creators come from the schools.
The new generations are not interested in performing art because they cannot reach them digitally. Most of the time, they consume the content at home on devices; if they don't find something on it, it doesn't exist.
We believe technology will change every facet of the theatrical industry. We are sure that file streaming in this cultural segment is nothing short of a revolution.
