Time Data Sequel (TDS) was established in 1989. In those early days, we used Informix Database Technology on a Xenix, or Unix Computer. When Microsoft developed Windows, and then their database development tool, Microsoft Access, we moved to this newer, and far less expensive for the end user, technology, on Personal Computers. When Microsoft Sequel Server became available, we scaled up to that technology. We were still using this Client Server until 2016 when hosted solutions became more affordable and less expensive for end users. We migrated 28 years of continuous development of our client-server time and attendance and access control software to a Web Based solution. In parallel with this development, we decided to also migrate our connectivity from the time & attendance/access control terminals. We decided to use not only Web-enabled terminals but, by utilizing 3G technology, enable the clocks to be wirelessly connected to our hosted web server. This means that all aspects of the solution can be managed centrally by TDS personnel. This includes monitoring the connectivity of all the remote terminals, data management, and replenishment of data onto the provided SIM cards. In addition, it allows our technicians to monitor the state of all the terminals and ensure that all clocking and access data is online. Real-time reporting, as well as Interactive Dashboards.
