In January 2022, Thailand-Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU) has been established by the Royal Thai Embassies in the Nordic Countries, namely the Royal Thai Embassy in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in order to serve as a platform to promote cooperation related to cooperation on sustainable development and innovation between Thailand and Nordic countries, as a whole. The Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm is the main coordinator for the TNIU with support from the other three embassies in the Nordic Countries.
TNIU has been tasked with four main objectives: First, to facilitate the knowledge exchange on innovation between Thailand and the Nordic countries. Second, to be a channel for businesses to access technologies, innovations, and solutions offered by startups and Tech-companies from both sides. Third, to support startups from both sides to find partners, investors, and to access markets and invest in the respective countries. Fourth, to promote networks between academic institutions as well as community to foster collaboration related to technologies and innovation developments, especially those related to green and sustainable solutions.
