To Go By Jo Catering Company was created in Las Vegas in 1999 by Joann Reckling and her family. TGBJ started out on a whim when friends asked Joann to make her famous tiramisu, an Italian dessert. Requests for tiramisu soon turned into suggestions that she take up catering, and through word of mouth Joann was called on to cater ever larger parties. TGBJ can cater an intimate breakfast for two in bed, dinner parties (Joann’s favorite) or parties of up to 600 or more. Her event expertise and food knowledge are highly sought after. Joann grew up in a large Italian family and has always had a love affair with food. She started cooking at a very early age when she received her first cookbook from her father. Joann learned much of her original techniques and recipes from her mother and both of her grandmothers, while growing up in South Florida. She learned to appreciate fresh seafood from her father who was an avid skin diver, always bringing home lobster and other local fish. After college in Florida Joann moved to Las Vegas in 1980, where she met her husband. While raising 3 sons, Joann attended the culinary arts program at CCSN in the 1990s. Interest in her family’s health led Joann to focus her cooking and catering on healthy alternatives. Cooking classes are Joann's passion. She enjoys teaching children as well as adults how to incorporate healthy foods into their lifestyle and how to enjoy preparing their own food.
