We started tools4dev with the belief that international development practitioners and aid workers would be better at their jobs if they had access to the right tools. Many people working or volunteering in international development don’t have specialist qualifications in the area. Even those with qualifications can be overwhelmed by complicated buzzwords, academic frameworks, and a fear that “everyone else knows exactly what to do” (even though many others are thinking the same thing).
When used correctly, simple tools for planning a program, monitoring its implementation and measuring the results can reduce stress, save time and improve the quality of the results. The aim of tools4dev is to help people find the many useful tools that are already available and explain how to use them in easy-to-understand language. We also create our own templates and how-to guides with practical tips and tricks on common tasks.
