Toucan fly was founded by Kristyna and Johnny in Edinburgh.
We specialize in making custom, handmade crochet hats and other products from sustainable materials.
For our winter hats and headbands, we use wool that we buy from a historical wool mill with makes their yarn from high-quality fleece using very traditional methods on a 19th-century spinning mule, that is powered by renewable energy from their own hydro-electricity production. It takes about six weeks to produce the beautiful ball of wool which we use to crochet our hats.
This mill is one of the first wool production unit in Scotland to achieve the Soil Association's organic approval, guaranteeing that their organic yarn is produced to the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental protection.
And we love that!
We sew on our cotton woven labels on the right side of the hat. We recommend placing the label behind your right ear.
Our hats are made with care and love for the art of crocheting. We hope that once you wear our hat you will feel this magic.
