Traffik Alert, designed by Abeyie Innovation Studios, was created to help eradicate modern slavery/human trafficking in Africa. In Africa, extreme poverty is at its highest. Many people cannot afford food or water and for a lot of them going hungry for days is a reality. A large number of people live in slums and even on the streets. This has made many young children and youths, victims of all kinds of abuse, especially sexual abuse. For some of the girls, they are abused by members of their own family and have no one to report these events to. They are threatened and asked never to report the matter. Others have unknowingly become victims of modern slavery /human trafficking and have no way out.
Traffik Alert was created to offer a digital solution - utilising AI and big data- that makes it easy for anyone to report any case of abuse. Traffik Alert is designed with the user in mind – privacy, anonymity and security. Traffik Alert is more than just a digital solution. It is an entire ecosystem that has been built to create awareness and to ensure that no one becomes a victim of abuse. Beyond the digital solution we are forming unique partnerships with various stakeholders to provide an end-to-end solution to the problem of modern slavery.
We believe in community and this is why Traffik Alert leverages the vigilance of concerned individuals to report and stop any form of abuse. Our adoption of
this digital innovation comes in the wake of social distancing and curtailed delegation of law enforcement and victim protection agencies contributing to culminating human trafficking.
