Trygg Trafikk er et bindeledd mellom frivillige aktører og offentlige myndigheter. Organisasjonen ble opprettet i 1956. Totalt er vi rundt 55 ansatte hvorav halvparten er på hovedkontoret i Oslo. De øvrige er lokalisert på fylkeskontorer rundt om i landet.
Trygg Trafikks arbeid finansieres hovedsakelig gjennom statlige tilskudd, Finans Norge, forsikringsselskaper og andre bedrifter. Lokale aktiviteter finansieres i stor grad av fylkeskommunale tilskudd og prosjektmidler. Medlems- og salgsinntekter kommer i tillegg.

Trygg Trafikk - Norwegian Council for Road Safety
Trygg Trafikk is a NGO working to promote the best possible road safety for all road users. Trygg Trafikk is given a special responsibility for promoting traffic education in kindergarten and school, and providing information and knowledge about road safety.
Trygg Trafikk was established in 1956 and consists of a central national administration placed in Oslo, and employed county secretaries in each county.
Trygg Trafikk is one of the actors behind the National Plan of Action for Road Safety, together with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, the police, the Directorate of Health and the Directorate of Education and Training.
Trygg Trafikk is member of the European Transport Safety Council.
