Tunisia Polytechnic School «TPS» or Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie «EPT», is a public Tunisian Engineering School, located in La Marsa near the capital Tunis. It is a center of excellence in the engineering education system in Tunisia. It was founded on June 26, 1991, and welcomed its first students in September 1994. The school is accessible for only top ranked 50 students who pass successfully the competitive exam (concours) following two years of intensive university-level preparation in mathematics and physics after Baccalaureate. Tunisia Polytechnic School offers its students a multidisciplinary high level education. It is renowned for its three-year undergraduate « Ingénieur Polytechnicien » degree in science and engineering. The first five terms covers common studies during which two trainings must be carried out in firms by the student. Besides, intensive weeks in French and English take place at the beginning of the first two years. Following the common studies, the students can choose among three options: EGES: « Economy and Scientific Management » to train economy engineers and managers having a wide scientific and technical culture as well as a capacity of economic and financial analysis. MEST: « Mechanics and Structures » an option oriented towards civil engineering and mechanical industry. SISY: « Signals and Systems », an option dealing with electronic, computing and communications. Two study trips are organized for each promotion. One in Tunisia during the first year and one abroad during the second year. These study trips represent an important part of the polytechnicien engineers' background, aiming at integrating them in the social and economic environment.
