Tuxtails Publishing is designed to help both fiction and non-fiction authors avoid all of these issues by combining the benefits of a traditional publishing house with the freedom that self-publishing brings. We are a small publisher with big ideas about how to make the publishing process fairer for authors, while still providing readers with polished, professional-looking books that have the potential to appear on bookshelves right alongside those from bigger, better-known companies.
Unlike other publishing houses that may be run by someone who has never picked up a pen to write in their life, Tuxtails Publishing was founded by an author for authors. Our priorities are the stories, the writers, and their readers, not the company’s bottom line.
We offer fair royalties, help with marketing, and a sense of community. We work together with authors to bring their unique vision to life without ever asking them to rewrite their book to better fit our catalog or current trends (the only revisions we will ever ask for are grammatical, to ensure the finished product is professional and easily readable by audiences).
Although it is named for the founder’s two tuxedo cats, Tuxtails Publishing publishes both fiction and non-fiction books on a wide variety of topics. Manuscript submissions may be made without an agent.
