Die UFA FICTION GmbH, mit Sitz in Potsdam, wurde im August 2013 gegründet. Hier werden die Top-Kreativen der deutschen Fernsehbranche unter einem Dach vereint und seit Jahren liefert die UFA FICTION dauerhaft Quotenerfolge und herausragende fiktionale Programme. Entstanden ist die UFA FICTION durch die Zusammenführung der UFA-Tochtergesellschaften teamWorx, Phoenix Film und UFA Fernsehproduktion im Rahmen des OneUFA-Prozesses mit dem strategischen Ziel, alle fiktionalen Produktionsaktivitäten im Bereich Reihe & Serie, TV-Movies, Events und High End Drama zu bündeln. Die Wurzeln der UFA FICTION erstrecken sich somit bis in die 1960er Jahre zurück, in denen die ehemalige UFA Fernsehproduktion gegründet wurde.
Die UFA FICTION verfügt über ein bemerkenswertes Portfolio an Produktionen, die die deutsche Fernsehlandschaft nachhaltig geprägt haben. Viele Produktionen waren nicht nur große Publikumserfolge, sondern wurden vielfach mit deutschen und internationalen TV- und Filmpreisen ausgezeichnet und ins Ausland verkauft. Dazu gehören unter anderem „Deutschland86“ (Amazon Prime Video), „Ku’damm 59“ (ZDF), „Der Junge muss an die frische Luft“ (Kino), „Nackt unter Wölfen“ (Das Erste), „Danni Lowinski“ (Sat.1), „Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter“ (ZDF), „Der Medicus“ (Kino) und „Ich bin dann mal weg“ (Kino).
