Under The Fig Tree biedt hulp aan Nederlandse meiden tussen de 15 en 19 jaar die vastlopen in hun dagelijks leven. Het lukt ondanks de jeugdhulp die (ambulant of residentieel) aangeboden wordt niet om het leven in Nederland weer goed op de rit te krijgen.
Ons huis, gelegen in Noord-Spanje, biedt de mogelijkheid om mee te leven met ons jonge gezin en daarnaast in relatieve zelfstandigheid een periode fysiek afstand te nemen van alles wat in Nederland afleidt. Te denken valt aan veelvuldig spijbelen, risicovolle vriendschappen, middelengebruik, verslaving aan social media of risicovol seksueel gedrag.
De tijd in Spanje is een periode waarin je de mogelijkheid krijgt om aan jezelf te werken, mentaal en fysiek tot rust te komen en de belangrijke zaken weer op orde te krijgen. Het traject is gericht op het herstel van gewoon leven. We werken aan zoveel mogelijk behoud en, waar mogelijk, herstel van gezonde (familie-)relaties en vriendschappen. Vaak wordt de hulp die je hier in Spanje van ons krijgt vervolgd door passende hulp (jeugdhulp of GGZ) wanneer je weer terug naar Nederland gaat.
Ons hulpaanbod wordt altijd in samenwerking met de betrokken hulpverlening en de plaatselijke gemeente georganiseerd. Het is belangrijk dat je hen betrekt in je zoektocht naar passende hulp.
