Together with the Vienna University of Technology we have developed a new technology that reduces energy consumption of a stationary surf wave up to 70% and can be built and operated at any location, at different scales. At the same time we will be able to triple capacity, so that three waves can be operated simultaneously, thus increasing slot capacity and maximum output of the number of riders.
How can this be achieved? Current wave systems circulate the water beneath the wave pool. Our new wave system, the V-Wave, circulates the water in one or two separate channels next to the wave pool, so that not only one, but three waves can be operated. The water will be pumped up to the first floor and moves down a ramp to create the first wave. Then the water will flow down another ramp into a separate channel on base level so that a second or even a third wave can be created with the same power used for pumps. When the main, upper level wave pool is i.e. 12 meters wide, we can operate a second wave on the left side that is 8 meters wide and a 4 meter wave on the right hand side. The waves can be operated simultaneously and at different wave heights so that all skill levels (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) can surf at the same time.
With our surf wave concept we therefore significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, creating a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for local as well as international customers. Our system can be coupled with sustainable energy sources, such as solar panels or windmills, so that the energy consumption can be further decreased. As a result, we will offer an integrated solution for all rider-levels and provide an all-year surf spot.
