V|LF-Spiro3D aims at developing and validating a radically new dedicated modality for spatially resolved, 3D lung structure and function characterization using cost-effective small-footprint, V|LF-MRI technology. 3D MR spirometry will provide an accessible tool for the early diagnosis, staging, and treatment follow-up of patients suffering from respiratory diseases. V|LF-Spiro3D is a project funded by the European Union under the program Horizon Europe. The consortium is made of 10 partners from 4 countries: France, Netherlands, Germany and UK. V|LF-Spiro3D technology will be a game changer both for clinical research and clinical practice with the possibility to improve a large patient population outcomes suffering from pulmonary diseases. For clinical research, the technology will provide a disruptive device to regionally evaluate the respiratory mechanics with combined morphological and functional parameters. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101099934.
