In 2019 en 2020 viert Nederland dat 75 jaar geleden de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd beëindigd en Nederland werd bevrijd. Met het project Vertel Vrijheid! dragen vmbo leerlingen bij aan de viering van 75 jaar Vrijheid.
Vertel Vrijheid! is een initiatief van 14 musea en herinneringscentra die verenigd zijn in SMH 40-45. Op 14 plekken in Nederland, van Friesland tot Zeeland, maken scholieren een rap waarin zij vertellen over vrede en vrijheid. In elke rap speelt een voorwerp of een verhaal uit één van de SMH 40-45 musea een centrale rol.
Van elke rap wordt een videoclip gemaakt. Deze clips worden gebruikt in de voorstelling Vertel Vrijheid! van Vincent Bijlo en de Konrad Koselleck Big Band. De clips worden ook verspreid in een uitgebreide social media campagne. Het project loopt van oktober 2019 tot en met oktober 2020.
