Throughout my career, I’ve worked at the place where the intellect and the emotions meet - the head and heart, if you will. As a family solicitor, I qualified as a mediator helping separating couples address their emotional issues alongside the legal and practical ones; as a PhD candidate, I became accredited as a coach when I identified an unmet need in the support available to my colleagues.
As your coach, we’ll explore what most matters to you and set goals to help you spend more of your time and resources towards achieving those things. I’ll be positive and encouraging and also provide honest feedback and act as a mirror to reflect patterns of behaviour that are standing in your way. Coaching gives you the opportunity to identify the changes you need to make to live a happier, more successful and fulfilling life.
My experience as family lawyer and my long-standing mindfulness practice bring a unique combination of qualities and skills to my coaching practice. I can provide the supportive, gentle space needed to allow insights to emerge, and can equally offer strategies and ask challenging questions if that’s what will help you to succeed.
I was accredited as a coach in 2012 by RD 1st through Culture at Work (ILM level 7 equivalence).
Once I completed my own PhD in 2014, I secured coaching contracts to coach PhD students and academics in the School of Law and School of English at the University of Kent and have considerable experience of coaching in this field. The scheme won a Barbara Morris Prize in 2016.
