Vliegbasis Eindhoven is dé Nederlandse luchtmachtbasis voor luchttransport. We leveren strategisch en tactisch luchttransport en voorzien andere vliegtuigen in de lucht van brandstof. Daarnaast voeren we Kustwachttaken uit.
Naast vliegen en het onderhouden van vliegtuigen, zorgen we er voor dat de luchthaven 17 uur per dag, 7 dagen per week is geopend voor vliegverkeer. Niet alleen voor onszelf, maar ook voor de reizigers van Eindhoven Airport. Eindhoven Airport maakt gebruik van dezelfde start- en landingsbaan en de militaire luchtverkeersleiding, brandweer en vogelwacht.

Internationale samenwerking

We werken veel samen in internationaal verband. Niet alleen om kosten te besparen, maar ook om de beschikbaarheid van transportvliegtuigen tijdens piekmomenten te verhogen. Met de stationering van het European Air Transport Command, het Movement Coordination Center Europe en het Resolute Support Strategic Flight Coordination Centre, is Vliegbasis Eindhoven een centrum voor internationale samenwerking op het gebied van (lucht)transport.
Militairen worden wereldwijd ingezet voor vrede en veiligheid. Luchttransport is daarom onmisbaar bij de verplaatsing van mens en materieel, waar ook ter wereld. Het gaat om snel en veilig transport van personeel, materieel en bijzondere ladingen zoals munitie en helikopters. En dat alles ook regelmatig in gebieden met vijandelijke dreiging of die slecht bereikbaar zijn. Dat maakt militair luchttransport onmisbaar.
