Die VM Presse ist konstruiert um gemischte Abfälle in grundsätzlich zwei Fraktionen, eine nasse organi-sche Fraktion, mit sehr geringem nicht-organischen Anteil und eine feste trockene Fraktion mit kaum organischem Anteil, physikalisch zu trennen. Die Abfälle werden in einem Pressverfahren mittels einem hohen Druck von 1000bar bear-beitet, gepresst und getrennt. Daraus ergibt sich eine Ände-rung der Struktur des organischen Materials, es wird in eine flüssige Masse umgewandelt. Diese nasse organische Fraktion kann dann in anaerobe Vergärung eingesetzt werden. Die tro-ckene nicht-organische Fraktion aus der VM Presse, enthält hauptsächlich EBS, aber auch Mineralien und Metalle. Nach-dem diese trockene Fraktion mittels einem zusätzlichem Trennverfahren entsprechend aufbereitet ist, bleibt nur der Ersatzbrennstoff übrig. Die VM Presse ist in zwei Ausführungen erhältlich. Die erste Ausführung kann 17 Tonnen Abfall pro Stunde verarbei-ten. Die zweite Ausführung ist für 35 Tonnen pro Stunde vorbereitet.
