For people seeking asylum and refugees facing systemic barriers to employment and education opportunities, navigating and finding the right pathway can be daunting, leading to disempowerment and reduced self-agency. ASRC Vocational & Empowerment Pathways Program (V&EP), empowers individuals to regain control over their lives, fostering education, empowerment and professional development in an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion. As people seeking asylum and refugees find meaningful employment and education, their increased purchasing power stimulates local economies generating a positive cycle of growth. And with a diverse and inclusive workforce, organisations can benefit from a wide range of perspectives, creativity, and innovation, all while forging stronger connections with the local community. We implement a range of person-centred, client driven initiatives which include: 1.Adaptive Leadership Mentoring Program trains and supports organisations to develop the structures, processes and procedures required to embrace and benefit from the skills offered by people seeking asylum and refugees. 2. Women’s Empowerment Program provides opportunities for women seeking asylum and refugees to engage in socal, educational and pre- employment activities that develop their confidence, self agency and life skills. 3. ASVET Program provides advice, information and support to people seeking asylum and refugees about access to Vocational Education and Training (VET) subsidised courses available through the Victorian government's Skills First initiative.
