VQ steht für mutige, emanzipierte, frische Literatur, die in keine Schubladen passt, für Komik und Lyrik, für besondere illustrierte Kinder-, Jugend- und Erwachsenenbücher (Graphic Novels). Gegründet wurde VQ als Voland & Quist 2004 in Dresden von Leif Greinus und Sebastian Wolter als Zwei-Mann-Projekt, als Verlag mit ostdeutschen Wurzeln europäischer Identität und Weltoffenheit, zu Beginn noch mit starkem Fokus auf Autor:innen aus der Spoken-Word- und Lesebühnenszene. Seitdem hat VQ sein literarisches Profil geschärft, sich weiterentwickelt und auch das Team hat sich verfünffacht.
