Having earned her CEBS designation and accumulated oodles (actually – over two decades) of experience, Alice Watts became known for her ability to translate ERISA gobbly-gook so the everyday person could understand it. She would rather have an eclectic background and for the longest time it was hard to pin down what she wanted to do when she grew up. She got started in the pension world purely by accident when she took a position in a pension administration office run by a manager she knew. That settled it. She had found the one area of business she could sink her teeth into. Her next foray was into the TPA world, experiencing common TPA headaches: admin, deadlines, helping clients, ERISA compliance, keeping current with Uncle Sam’s rules and regs, educating employees so they’d save more. Later, she returned to corporate administration, facing many of the same situations but from a different perspective – that of the plan sponsor. And now, her love of words has led her to wordsmithing for the retirement industry. Her passion is for employees to have a more financially secure retirement through their employer's 401(k) plan.
