We Luv Local is a location based, directory website, tha has come about in response to a need for people to find businesses that are still operating in their area whilst COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are in place.
We’d noticed people in our local facebook groups asking who their local farmers were, which takeaways were still delivering, where they could get fresh fruit and veg delivered etc.
And we’d seen lots of businesses adapt their models in order to keep serving their local communities. National companies were discounting their services and people were volunteering their time and doing amazingly creative things to help local NHS staff and other key workers.
By day we run 'Reach Digital' a small digital marketing agency from home and so discounting our websites to NHS staff & keywords wasn’t really an option.
So it got us onto thinking about what we could do to give something back.
We’re b2b anyway so supporting other businesses whilst connecting them with their local communities seemed the most obvious and natural thing to do. And so that’s where We Luv Local was born.
Buying local, we hope, is a positive change in consumer buying behaviour, that will continue long after current restrictions are lifted. And so on the other side of all this, We Luv Local will continue to support and promote local businesses within their communities.
We also wanted to share the some of the good news stories coming out of our communities and so we’re also launching a #weluvlocalheroes campaign.
The aim is to give the nation a platform where they can acknowledge friends, family or members of their community that have maybe performed an act of kindness no matter how big or small, maybe they’ve volunteered their delivery services or are using their skills to raise money for charity.
