What is Impulse?
Officially: Impulse is a community space to discover the latest fashion and coolest lifestyle products from independent stores worldwide. A form of social discovering shopping, dedicated to providing curated, and high quality products from the most under-rated stores and brands directly to our users. Our aim is to level the social commerce playing field and provide an accessible platform for all stores to connect and grow.
Unofficially: A social way to shop cool shit that you probably haven't seen before. Simple.
Work to date?
Officially: We have been in concept, built, and testing over the last 3 years. Rejected an investment offer, funded everything ourselves, and pivoted (a little). This year we completed a short Alpha stage and opened to a diverse range of users and stores from across the world. We're currently preparing for a longer stage Beta, collating a full scale Launch List, and will begin our next stage of testing the platform.
Unofficially: Turned down money. Built it ourselves. It's taking a shit load of time and care, and finally we're getting the chance to prove the concept. Startup life is killer.
The Team?
Officially: A small team from various backgrounds - commerce, law, tech, travel - all uni graduates, under the age of 26, and all have built functioning revenue turning businesses over the last few years. We've left executive jobs, Oxford and Cambridge Masters offers, and travelling the world all in exchange for pursuing Impulse.
Unofficially: Co-Founders are brothers, plus a few friends trying to build something cool, whilst giving up decent food, a social life, economic security, in exchange for stupid hours, loads of risk, and a shit ton of fun.
