Die WeFair ist Österreichs größte Nachhaltigkeitsmesse: Zweimal jährlich – im Herbst in Linz und ab Frühjahr 2023 erstmals auch in Wien – präsentieren bis zu 200 regionale, nationale und internationale Ausstellende aus den Bereichen Mode, Ernährung und Lifestyle ihre Ideen, Produkte und Dienstleistungen für ein nachhaltiges Miteinander. Alle AusstellerInnen, egal ob langjährige Pionierin oder innovativer Newcomer, werden von unabhängigen ExpertInnen nach strengen Kriterien geprüft. So ist sichergestellt, dass die BesucherInnen mit gutem Gewissen einkaufen können. Seit ihrer Gründung 2008 hat sich die WeFair von einem kleinen Nischenmarkt zu einer 360-Grad-Messe für alle Konsumbereiche entwickelt. An den dreitägigen Messewochenenden finden die bis zu 15.000 BesucherInnen für jede Konsumentscheidung eine nachhaltige Alternative. Hinter der WeFair steht der gemeinnützige Verein "Wefair – Verein zur Förderung eines fairen und ökologischen Lebensstils", der von den drei NGOs Südwind, GLOBAL 2000 und dem Klimabündnis getragen wird. Sie orientiert sich an zwei philosophischen Grundsäulen: We, also das Miteinander, und Fair, also den fairen, respektvollen und nachhaltigen Umgang mit Mensch und Natur.
