Wellenbrecher e.V. ist seit 1993 anerkannter Träger der freien Jugendhilfe mit Sitz in Dortmund, Nordrhein-Westfalen. Wer mit gestalten möchte und gerne im Team arbeitet, ist bei uns als pädagogische Fachkraft richtig. Wir entwickeln, planen und realisieren flexible und individuelle Hilfsangebote für Kinder, Jugendliche, junge Volljährige und deren Familien. Auch integrative Angebote haben wir. Die Maßnahmen werden durch unsere Regionalbüros in verschiedenen deutschen Städten organisiert und überregional bzw. international angeboten. Unsere Arbeit basiert hauptsächlich auf den rechtlichen Bestimmungen SGB VIII (Sozialgesetzbuch).
Wellenbrecher e.V. ist dem Deutschen Paritätischen Wohlfahrtsverband (DPWV) angeschlossen, und unsere MitarbeiterInnen engagieren sich in dessen Fachgremien für Erziehungshilfe. Wir sind darüber hinaus aktives Mitglied in der Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Individualpädagogik e.V. (AIM), dem Bundesverband für Erziehungshilfe e.V. (AFET), dem European Forum for Social Education/Europäisches Forum für Soziale Bildung (EFFSE) sowie der Ombudschaft Jugendhilfe NRW e.V.
