The Westgate School equips young people for life in an ever-changing world, by challenging and nurturing each individual, in and out of the classroom, to achieve their personal best. We educate, inspire, and support our local community. We are guided by our strong moral compass to deliver an inclusive curriculum which is broad and balanced. Established in 1958, we are a thriving non-selective, co-educational secondary school, with a Sixth Form. We have an embedded Personal Development Curriculum from Year 7 through to Year 13. This encompasses Westgate6, PSHE, (CEIAG), student leadership opportunities and an extra-curricular enrichment programme. We strive to be a fully inclusive school and actively seek to remove the barriers to learning and participation that can hinder students. The achievements, attitudes and wellbeing of all our students matter. Together, staff, governors, students, parents and carers work collaboratively with a strong sense of community built upon our core ARK values.
