WrOpenUp is non commercial project run by highly skilled volunteers from different sectors like City Government, nonprofit, education, artists, media and Business with international employees mainly from GOOGLE, IBM, HPE, UBS, Credit Suisse and Volvo. All volunteering coordinators are engaged in active co-creation and personal participation.
The guiding principle behind WrOpenUp is openness. We decided to combine educational efforts - educating through experience, using communication specialists to coordinate and support us (mass, social and inter-cultural communication) – and with creative efforts - channelling young people's energy to promote positive and creative action.
Participation and active citizenship. We want to encourage the youth of Wroclaw as well as temporary residents, workers and students (Polish and ex-pats alike) to get involved - for their own sake, and for the community they're part of.
Integration. Our aim is to integrate around positive values. We want to help integrate the ex-pat circles in Wroclaw and to remove any barriers ex-pats may encounter on a daily basis in a foreign country.
Getting to know each other. We believe that stereotypes rarely survive knowledge and experience. That's why we want to transfer the knowledge of our experts and show how experience can be gathered in order to become an ambassador of the idea and promote it further - in the local community.
