X Flight Test is a flight test consultancy firm. X Flight Test is a sole proprietor corporation, with Zach McCarley acting as President and Test Pilot. Zach’s bio: Zach McCarley is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) with a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering. Advanced degrees include an MS in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MS in Flight Test Engineering from the USAF Test Pilot School. Mr. McCarley served over 15 years in the United States Marine Corps as an officer, fighter pilot, and test pilot. Notable achievements include graduating from the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), Naval Aviation Safety School, and USAF Test Pilot School. He served as an operational fighter pilot, flight instructor, and test pilot, ending his military service as director of flight operations for a developmental test squadron, VX-31 Dust Devils. Presented at SETP and AIAA on Super Hornet strafe flight test program. Mr. McCarley acted as an engineering test pilot and aerospace engineer with Calspan Aerospace. He has worked with the world’s finest test pilot schools, providing stability and control instruction in Calspan’s variable stability Learjets as well as managing Calspan’s Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) program, Pilot Induced Oscillation (PIO) program, and USAF TPS RPA Curriculum Development Program.
