Gedreven door Gods liefde zoekt Youth for Christ Zwolle jongeren op, helpt hen groeien en biedt hen hoop. We geloven dat elke jongere in Zwolle de kans verdient om Jezus te leren kennen en voor Hem te kiezen.
In de praktijk
In de wijken Diezerpoort, Aa-landen en Westenholte gaan we wekelijks de straat op om jongeren te ontmoeten of door jongeren binnen uit te nodigen. We trekken met elkaar op en delen met elkaar het dagelijkse leven: een nieuwe bijbaan, examenstress of moeilijkheden thuis.
Naast het (straat)jongerenwerk, bieden we jaarlijks een sport- en evangelisatieweek aan in de drie wijken (eerste week van zomervakantie noord). Voorafgaande worden alle teams uit noordoost-Nederland toegerust tijdens de Schellerbergconferentie.
De beweging
Youth for Christ Zwolle is een beweging van meer dan honderd mensen. Een deel van de (vrijwillige) werkers is direct betrokken bij jongeren, een ander deel zet zich op de achtergrond in door te bidden of te koken. Ook onderling trekken we veel met elkaar op door trainings- en toerustingsmomenten, het vrijwilligersweekend of spontane borrels. Zo moedigen we elkaar aan in het leven en om te investeren in God en jongeren.
YFC Zwolle is onderdeel van YFC Nederland en YFC International; een wereldwijde beweging die zich inzet voor jongeren en Jezus.
