Zawraq aims to provide a platform for young and ambitious creatives who want to manifest their ideas but don’t know how. Through workshops and training programmes, the collective provides an opportunity for young artists to build their knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to experiment and produce new works of art. By building a network made up of local talents, Zawraq hopes to bridge the gap between curator and artist in order develop human stories that engage audiences in Oman in a meaningful and intellectual manner. By constructing themed exhibitions based on specific artistic prompts, the process becomes easier for the artists as the collective manages the operational factors of putting up an exhibition/artistic experience from financing, scheduling, facilitating, marketing, promotion, archiving and other production responsibilities; allowing the artist to focus solely on making art that plays, bites and lingers.
