Η πρωτοβουλία Zero Waste Samos δημιουργήθηκε το 2018 με σκοπό να αφυπνίσει την νέα γενιά του νησιού σε περιβαλλοντικά θέματα. Από τότε έχει οργανώσει δυο ενημερωτικές δράσεις σε συνεργασία με τα εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα που έλαβαν χώρα στο Art Space Pythagoreion το 2018 και 2019. Οι δράσεις αφορούν την έννοια της επαναχρησιμοποίησης αλλά και της μείωσης των απορριμμάτων στην καθημερινότητα με έμφαση στο πλαστικό στη Σάμο.
To 2020, επιθυμία του Zero Waste Samos, είναι να προωθήσει τη συνεργασία τοπικών επιχειρήσεων αλλά και ιδιωτών για την προστασία του περιβάλλοντος. Απώτερος στόχος είναι η ίδρυση ενός περιβαλλοντικά ευαισθητοποιημένου δικτύου και η διοργάνωση σχετικών δράσεων για την μείωση των πλαστικών μιας χρήσης και των απορριμμάτων.
