Zorgdoc biedt online ondersteuning van het medicatieproces. Het hart daarvan bestaat uit de koppeling tussen het EPD van de zorgprofessionals en de PGO van de patiënt. Deze koppeling laat patiënten en professionals op een praktische, technisch veilige en juridisch sluitende manier samenwerken. Met Zorgdoc houden zorgprofessionals hun eigen verantwoordelijkheid voor het EPD en bepalen patiënten wie er toegang heeft tot hun PGO.
Die koppeling is van belang bij een tweede belangrijke bouwsteen van Zorgdoc: Verificatie & Validatie. Zorgdoc verzamelt medicatie-informatie uit alle beschikbare bronnen en legt die ter verificatie voor aan de patiënt. Daarmee is de medicatie-informatie altijd compleet en actueel.
Daarnaast ondersteunt Zorgdoc het logistieke proces, van het recept tot en met eventuele uitlevering bij de patiënt thuis. En er is een bouwsteen voor het ondersteunen, controleren en bewaken van de declaratie van add-on geneesmiddelen bij klinisch en poliklinisch gebruik.
Zorgdoc voldoet aan actuele wettelijk eisen, zowel op Europees als nationaal niveau (Cliëntenrechten, Richtlijn Medicatieoverdracht in de keten) en draagt het MedMij-label. De koppeling wordt op dit moment vooral op medicatiedossiers toegepast.
