Het Vlaams Instituut voor Kwaliteit van Zorg (VIKZ), v.z.w. heeft als doel om de kwaliteit van zorg en patiëntveiligheid in diverse sectoren van de Vlaamse gezondheidszorg en woonzorg transparant te maken en te verbeteren.
Het VIKZ werd in november 2017 officieel opgericht en is sinds januari 2019 operationeel. VIKZ biedt de burger en beleidsmaker via Zorgkwaliteit.be een centraal platform voor vergelijking van de gemeten zorgkwaliteit. Momenteel lopen ontwikkelingen in de AZ, GGZ, Woonzorgcentra en Eerstelijn.
Het VIKZ is een onafhankelijke v.z.w., gesubsidieerd door de Vlaamse Overheid en met projectfinanciering. Als netwerkorganisatie vormt ze een overkoepelende structuur waarbinnen de zorgsectoren hun kwaliteitsresultaten kunnen meten en opvolgen. Het VIKZ wil aanleiding geven tot aantoonbare kwaliteitsverbetering en het verbindend initiatief vormen rond kwaliteitsindicatoren in Vlaanderen.
