Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP), founded in 1951, is a full-time institution of higher education, joint running by the central government and Shanghai Municipal Government. The development of SUEP had experienced several major progress, such as Shanghai electric power school, Shanghai electric power industry school and Shanghai electric power technical college. SUEP was approved by the Ministry of Education for the undergraduate education and the official name of Shanghai University of Electric Power in March 1985.
