Volkswagen FAW Engine (Dalian) Co., Ltd. is a Sino-German joint venture of Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and China FAW Group Corporation, with a total investment of over RMB 5 billion.
Nowadays, as a key engine production base for the Volkswagen Group we have two Plants in China, the first plant is located at Dalian Development Area, covering an area of more than 200,000 m2 and produces the latest generation of EA888 engines. In August 2013, our second plant, The Changchun Plant of Volkswagen FAW Engine (Dalian) Co., Ltd was launched in northeast China and located in the immediate vicinity of the existing car plant.
While creating high-performance and energy-saving products for the market, the company has also established the green corporate culture. Soon after it was founded, VWED passed the ISO14001 Environmental Management System Certification. From the quality aspect, VWED already achieved impressive result with 91 points in Quality Process Audit of Volkswagen Group in 2009 and keeps the good quality record till now, we also achieved Level-A supplier prize in 2010 with 92 points.
In 2010, VWED invested RMB 100 million to establish the first Powertrain Remanufacturing Center in China. The project inherits and develops the remanufacturing technology with the history over 50 years in Volkswagen Group. The remanufactured engines have the same quality as brand-new ones.
More new projects will be carried out soon, including establishing integrated test and engineering Center, connecting rod & balance shaft production line. All these projects will definitely upgrade VWED to the Engine Function Center integrated with research & development, production, test & analysis and remanufacturing.
VWED has around 1800 employees, including Ph.D., Master, and overseas students. This high-quality, active and creative team leads VWED to the vigorous development. VWED is always striving for the new targets and sincerely welcomes the talents to join us!
