It Security Analyst
Sr. Security Engineer
Engineer dedicated to the planning and implementation of all infrastructure, hardware, and software for the Security Operations Center. I started working with Cybersalus in the summer of 2013 as they were in the early planning phases. Once my contract ended with MAT I assumed a full time role. We stood up McAfee MVM, ePO, ACE, NSM, ERC, and ESM with GTI, all on VMs hosted at Rackspace. This environment would be fed events via agents or WMI pulls, and fed network traffic from an NSP on the client network.
Sr. Security Engineer / Afso
Continuing previous duties of maintaining IAVA and STIG compliance on fielded systems, primarily utilizing SPAWAR's SCC and Retina. Initiate the background investigation and adjudication process for employees at the Secret and Top Secret levels. Assign and maintain physical access permissions (badges and key control). Prepare and maintain documentation for Facility Clearances (e-FCL); heavily involved in the upgrade to TS. Evaluate internal requirements for new projects and the viability of existing procedures. Submit cleared visit requests and document the transport of materials and their handlers. Conduct routine inspection of the facility and inventory items of interest.
Software/Security Engineer
Created and maintained system images with proper security posture. Deployed fully automated installs for over 22000 systems worldwide. Maintained the automated operating system deployment and security posture for our flagship program. Utilized the DISA Gold Disc and eEye RETINA scan tools to verify compliance with DoD STIGs and regulations. Ensured that Authority to Operate (ATO) is achieved and maintained for all systems and software.
Team Lead
Team Lead for the new equipment fielding and training of the SAMS-E maintenance system to the US Army National Guard (USARNG). Oversaw a team of 9 people, a mix of operator and CSSAMO instructors, and data conversion personnel. Responsibilities included the deployment and training of the system to all ground maintenance operations in the USARNG. We also provided Field Service Representative (FSR) and Tier II HelpDesk support for USARNG customers.
Data Conversion Lead
Oversaw a team of Data Conversion Techs and CSSAMO instructors that went on the road full time migrating live US Army readiness data on-site from AdaSAGE and flat file formats to Oracle 10g and conducting CSSAMO instruction. My main focus was data validation during these periods, I also audited, evaluated, and reported our progress daily. There was significant overlap with my development of the CSSAMO course, during this time a full time technical writing staff was being phased in.
Training Developer
Developed the Combat Service Support Automation Management Office (CSSAMO) course for SAMS-E. This included, POIs , Slide Deck, and System Support Manual (SSM); as well as a 'Commander's Guide'. This course teaches system administrators how to configure, troubleshoot, and provide continued support for the product and its components. In addition, I taught the first few classes of active CSSAMO personnel, as well as the first class of SAMS-E CSSAMO instructors (train the trainer). I then traveled to the fielding sites to audit the effectiveness of the instruction and update the materials as warranted, while also filling the role of Data Conversion Lead on sites as needed.
Test Lab Architect And Engineer
The efforts toward the test lab overlapped completely with my ongoing development of the System Support Manual (SSM) and the Combat Service Support Automation Management Office (CSSAMO) course, now the SASMO course. In late 2004 we began preparations for the System Qualification Test (SQT) of our first release of the Standard Army Maintenance System - Enhanced (SAMS-E). I built the infrastructure for the test lab network, procured and placed all hardware, to include interfacing Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS), developed scenarios, and conducted tests as units became available. Once internal testing was complete I traveled to and participated in the SQT (passed, first round), the Government Acceptance Interoperability Test (GAIT), and the Lead Site Verification Test (LSVT).
Network Administrator
Started with the company in the IT department and assisted with the migration from Windows NT and Windows 2000 to Windows 2003.
