I'm Adama (pronounced like “Adam” with an “uhh” at the end), a strategist and writer based in Washington, D.C.My work spans disciplines and mediums—from brand positioning to archival research—but every project shares my belief in the power of storytelling to drive meaningful social change. My capabilities include writing, curating, researching, and brand consulting.Previously, I led the Racial Equity Grant at the human rights nonprofit Humanity in Action; served as a research and curatorial associate at The James Weldon Johnson Institute for the Study of Race and Difference; managed programming and content at a Black-owned art advisory and media platform; and conducted research on gender-based violence in West Africa at The Carter Center.I hold bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and International Studies from Emory University, where I graduated magna cum laude. These disciplines form the foundation of my approach to creative work and fuel my passion for driving social change through meaningful connections with global audiences.
