Ben leads RS&H's sustainability and resilience services, applying his experience with sustainability and resilience planning, energy efficiency, alternative fuels, and climate change mitigation / adaptation on behalf of public and private clients. At RS&H, Ben has managed programs and projects related to facility energy management, greenhouse gas inventories, municipal energy conservation strategies, sustainable transit system management, design and procurement of renewable energy systems, high-performance infrastructure (LEED, Green Globes, ENVISION), alternative fuel programs, and innovative finance / project delivery, among other topics. Prior to joining RS&H, Ben served as Director of the Energy and Climate Program at the Coastal Conservation League. While at the League, Ben led development of policies and programs focused on sustainable development in South Carolina. He served as technical adviser to the Charleston Green Plan and the South Carolina Climate, Energy and Commerce Committee. Ben was a contributing author to the Convenient Guide to Climate Change Policy & Technology, published by Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, focused on national and state policies to support energy efficiency. He has served on the Board of the American Planning Association - First Coast Section and was President of the U.S. Green Building Council North Florida, serving on the Board of Directors from 2010 - 2015 as Vice-President and Secretary. As a USGBCNF volunteer, he established the Northeast Florida Sustainability Officers Roundtable. He has served on the Board of Directors of Tree Hill Nature Center and the Community First Credit Union Community Advisory Council.
